Instagram is one of the most popular social-media platforms around today with over a billion users worldwide. Since being purchased by Facebook, the app has continued to grow and is listed as the 21st most popular app in the United States. Today people don’t just post selfies on Instagram, celebrities all over the world use the platform to share and communicate with their followers.
Are you an Instagram user? Here are five things you should know about the social media platform.
Rights to your content
This is one fact most Instagram users don’t know. Instagram terms and conditions allow it to licenses your content – videos and images. However, as incredible as this may sound it also implies that Instagram can use this content without your consent. They can modify, copy, translate, display and distribute users consent without permission. Also, asides using your content, Instagram can also freely sub-license your content to a company or any third parties for free or at a fee.
Over 90 million
More then 90 million photos and videos are uploaded to Instagram by users every single day. Celebrity photos are one of the most popular on Instagram. The most liked picture on the app is the Instagram egg with over 35 million likes and counting. Other includes a Photo of Kylie Jenner, Justine Bieber, Cristiano Ronaldo, Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, Dwayne “The Rock”.
On the whole, over 35 billion photos and videos have been uploaded on the social media platform to date. If you find yourself wanting to download Instagram videos and photos there are a number of third party apps that will help you do this since this functionality isn’t natively supported by Instagram.
Love is in the air
Its said that “love is a universal language” and Instagram perfectly exemplifies that statement as love rules when it comes to Instagram hashtags. The Love hashtag has been used over 1.2 billion posts and still counting. Instagram users use the Love tag to boost their followers. Hashtags are supposed to make your content stand out, so when using the #love, you should balance it out with other related and less popular hashtags. Other hashtags among the most popular include: #instagood, #photooftheday, #fashion, #beautiful, #happy, #cute, #tbt, #like4like, #followme, #picoftheday, #follow, #me, #selfie, #summer.
Stories are powerful
Instagram stories are a fairly new addition to the social media platform. Mark Zuckerberg reportedly told Instagram to copy Snapchat who was the first to have this type of feature. Instagram stories have grown at a tremendous pace since they were integrated into the app in 2019. More then 500 million accounts use Instagram Stories and over 25 percent of them are published by businesses.
Instagram stories, like Snapchat stories, can be viewed for a period of 24 hours. After 24 hours is up they disappear and can no longer be viewed. If you come across a story that I’d like to save for later you can use a Instagram Story downloader to do this. Remember to do it as soon as possible because after 24 hours the story will be gone.
That sums up this article. I hope you enjoyed reading it and if you have any questions please just leave a comment and I will do my best to answer them. Thank!
